On Saturday, March 28th, Mike participated, with about 300 other riders, in the
Barry-Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Race. The course was a grueling
31 miles of HILLY gravel roads wrapping around Gun Lake in Yankee Springs - perfect conditions for Mike's Specialized TriCross bike. These types of races always seem to bring out the most interesting crowd, mostly the laid-back 'burly' type; gotta love it! The morning was gorgeous and scenery breathtaking, too - I was able to go for a run while he was on his bike and explore the trails and woods - it was awesome!
Mike finished
2nd in his age group with a time of
1:57:51 hr.
I'm SO proud of him! We celebrated in the lodge afterwards with a fine post-race cuisine of
Chili and Founders Beer. Yummmm!
